Ernie Ball .010 or ,011, Occasionally skinny top/heavy bottom. Used to D'Addarios, but I tend to buy in bulk and the EBs cost less.

I got a bunch of Ernie Ball super slinkies last time I bought strings. They were cheap so I went for it. The Dean Markleys I was using are discontinued now, I think.

I bounce around depending on the Tele. Some have Stringjoy Broadways(pure nickels round core) others Daddario XL. Sometimes GHS Boomers. Even flats occasionally. I have the half round Daddarios on one pine Tele and they are awesome. I bought a new Telecaster Professional II - roasted pine body month+ ago. Maple finger board. I guess it had Fender bullets on it? I recently put D'addarios pure nickel 9-41 set on it. Not sure of the differences - besides it's slightly lighter 9-41 set. (The lighter weight of the roasted pine Tele itself - is much appreciated)
I wonder if it would be worth trying the half round Daddarios? They do cost more. Or - dare I say - flat wounds. (I have D'addario flat wound chromes on my short scale bass - the smooth feel of them is great.)

What I like best, I can't seem to get anymore. I loved the Scalar nickel strings. More expensive, but they lasted significantly longer (I'm hard on strings). They had such a nice alloy; you could see the decided purple/rosy hue to it. Company went out of business. Anyone else remember them?
I liked Davinci strings. He went out of business.
I've been using Dunlop for the last few years, but they phased out the slightly warmer sounding set I preferred most.
I've tried just about everything over the last 3-4 decades.
Think I'll look into something new.
How many actual string manufacturers are there in the US?
My normal gauge preferences for standard tuning. 011, .015, .018, .028, .038, .050
I'll go with a set of 10's sometimes...I have a couple Strats that came to me with 10's; they played so well, I didn't want to mess that up with the heavier gauge and the subsequent action tweaks.

I think they have a nice tone for sure. Plus the round core thing. They do last a bit longer than the usual suspects I think. Im the kind of player that changes strings like once a year or so anyway...

If I get 4 live sets out of a set of strings, I feel like I'm winning. I often hesitate to pay a premium for guitar strings because I am so hard on them. I looked into the Stringjoys last week, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'll go pure nckel. Looks like live gigging is going to pick back up, so this could be a good time to do that.

Might be worth a shot! Not too many options for fellers like you outside of coated, tho. That is a bummer... luckily I'm more a jazz guy so dead-ish flatwounds are my bread and butter. The Broadways are nice, though!

I'm so old school, I just really haven't entertained the idea for very long. I think I'm going to try a couple-three sets of Broadways: one for a 335, and a set each for a Tele and a Strat. Sure do appreciate the input!
