Continuing on this road (not down the rabbit hole), a friend sent this to me (off social media) Is this a spoof? Or is this some sort of brazen and bold affront to the years of conditioning us Gen-Xers received? illuminati.am/globalist-agenda/

I remain concerned about the declining incidence of civil discourse. It seems to have been replaced with scads of logical fallacies.

I finally saw this. It’s good. Didn’t present me with any new information exactly but it’s put together well and I think/hope it reaches a broad audience of people who weren’t necessarily already following all of this stuff.
I think people who don’t realize how manipulated and curated their online experience is are more or less sitting ducks. I know a lot of people my folks age don’t realize that when two people search for terms like “climate change” or “vaccines”, they’re going to see two different presentations of content, both curated to keep their eyeballs glued for as long as possible. If you’ve got a history of spending time looking at misinformation or whatever, the platforms will happily keep shoveling wheelbarrows of it at you. It’s their bread and butter and $$$ is their sole guiding principle.

Isn’t it more like: What’s your list of approved conclusions? (don’t worry, we already know because we’ve got a pretty decent model of you built)? Great! Here is a lifetime of hot takes that will keep you online and thus profitable to us. Happy researching! We promise to only steer you towards your list of approved conclusions.

The problem is multifaceted.
Published science varies widely in quality.
Laymen generally lack the time or skills to separate the what from the chaff.
There are people and groups with a vested interest in producing and pushing content regardless of quality or truth.
A portion of the people who are “figuring it out” are actively pushing misinformation and bad studies.
Dunning-Kruger is real, and social media information manipulation short circuits whatever paltry defense our brains have against it which exacerbate the issue in a feedback loop.

I love watching movies and videos like this. I first heard about them when I read the reviews steam card delivery customer service . It is very interesting and informative. I have a younger sister and I often watch similar videos with her. We spend a lot of time together and she is not dependent on social media and it makes me very happy!
