First random chat point, hearing test. I noticed Ward mentioned it in the Flea thread, so out of curiosty I wondered if I was going a bit deaf.. My ears need cleaning out a bit that's for sure. I managed 25Hz to 14.5Khz which is about right.. Ward , here's the audiology bands / age groups for hearing. A good measure of a person’s hearing range relative to their age can be estimated as below: Range of human hearing is 20 - 20Khz 8,000 Hz: Anyone without a hearing impairment 12,000 Hz: People under 50 15,000 Hz: People under 40 16,000 Hz: People under 30 17,000 Hz: People under 24

Very cool! Mine seemed to wane at around 12k and tapped out after 15k close to 16.
What i didnt expect was to not hear anything until 23hz but just feel the sub

I prefer to eat the Sub.
My friend, a Church Soundsguy... Was bragging to me last Sunday, about how good his hearing is.
After he finished, I said "It's windy isn't it?"
He said "Nope it's Sunday". Chris

Good stuff! One thing I do is run the test into an LDC to confirm the playback system isn’t messed up. Headphones for example can have some really weird response curves. Phones/laptops I don’t have all the trust in either. I’m around 14-15k. It’s fun to see the meters light up and only hear a gentle tone until nothing 😄

Wtf! 13k... I think something is wrong with this room because I did very similar test in my apartment and got 31 yo probably around 16k or a bit higher. Here's that other test: http://instagram.com/p/CwNtBRMrAvD

I can perceive it to around 16.5K but it definitely start to drop off pretty quickly for me after 13K.

Other things to consider . . . low quality YouTube audio only goes to about 12khz anyhow, and most computer speakers only produce to about 13-14k
so we may be judging ourselves based on the source.

I'm using pro gear. Today I'm hearing higher... I'm not feeling well let's put it in a not so dramatic way lol but today I'm a bit better rested and I can hear higher frequencies...
