This is making a pair of BC12a FET very tempting 🤔 Just wanted to pass this along in case anyone else was looking to pick up any mics: http://instagram.com/p/DBxxjR-ShXQ

I was literally talking about a year end purchase of the BC12a with my wife, wondering if VK was going to have a longer finance period.

Tempted to add a second Bu87, or grab the 67 or BC12a tube. Great deals!

What are people thinking of the latest version (Version 2) of the B67 these days? I know there were some changes to the design over time, compared to the original.
Also, I don't know if I have the funds enough for two B67s, but I could probably swing at least one. I'd ultimately want two of these eventually though, as in one now and one later. Are they even able to be purchased as matched pairs?

I really dig my B67, it’s a mk2. I have a couple reissues and a pair of real 269s in my orbit. Having tracked with all of the above, the Beesneez is a phenomenal value. If you rehoused it in a vintage Neumann shell, you would surely fool me. Definitely the best vocal mic I’ve ever personally owned.

IMHO a proper 47 capsule/Tube Combo is slightly more “Percussive” in effect. (If K47 not mellower M7 ) I remember reading that in the development of the U67… Neumann was leaning more towards the M7-ish tone. A comparison of Paul’s vocal on Hey Jude. Versus most all his vocals earlier is interesting. Chris

U67 generally cleaner sounding, not that the U47’s inherent distortions are unmusical.

Thanks, generally my voice has never worked well with anything with an EF86 tube in it, be it a preamp or the impedance converters/ signal amp in a tube mic. As a tube it’s generally too hi-fi and leaning towards a brighter sound. I imagine the implementation in the BU67 mitigates this generic EF86 quality to to some degree - and the clips I have heard seem to confirm that. I’m considering buying one whilst this sale is on

"End of Financial Year Sale"....is it safe to assume that's December 31, unless they do something in Australia that I'm not aware of...?

Man. I've wanted a good 67 type thing for a long time. I may have to do this with the sale.

What’s the difference between the tribute 49 and the classic 49? They look exactly the same and the specs are the same on both pages.

Some of the sale prices are starting to show up at Vintage King so it does look like it will be a sale through dealers as well!

I haven't been able to hold one in my hand but I really appreciate three work they've put into the finish. It looks great. Pet peeve of mine about clones and such. I did metal finishing at a guitar parts business and so I'm picky I guess.
