Clean? You mean the AS 76D, right? I haven't used the 77x-500, but from the demos I've heard it is colored IMO.
Yes, that's what I meant the Rev d from audio scape. The bluey had way too much color for me. Over the top color. I need the 1176 to be cleaner because it will always be followed by something else that probably has color. You should also remember that the bluey is not really a 1176 in the sense that we know, It's a clone of a butchered, modified, out of specs and what not unit. I would say it's a compressor of it's own rather than considered a version of among the 1176 revs. Try out the WES beta 76 (the older one, not NG), might like it with the modern/vintage switch (transformerless/carnhill), goes from very clean to nice color. |
