Delta users... Question about using the Ave channels in a non ave frame.
I have found reference to disabling the VCA fader by shorting the pins that the fade depth fader plug into. I have tried this without success.
I have also contacted JW and did not get a response.
The internet is full of people asking the question but not one reported success story with what was done.
It is also possible that I have a bad channel and it is just dead.

Have you tried undoing the VCA fader mod? Or have a link to the mod?
As far as my memory goes, no mod is necessary. With nothing connected to the VCA fader, it shouldn't do anything. But I don't have schematics handy, so my memory might be trying to fool me.

If you think of anything it would be appreciated. Looking at it again... I guess the shorting of the connector could be from the fader pins across the board to the vca control pins and not to each other. I really need to find the channel schematic for the AVE. I have not located one yet.

Well...
Found out the channel I was testing was bad! Dug in and started swapping channels around.
For posterity - you need to short the pins of CN6 and CN7 on the stereo channels.
I now have a 32 channel Delta loaded with 26 single dlx, and 6 stereo channels. I a pretty sure I need to replace the ribbon cable since my solo works if I play with the cable.
