What is the speaker rated at in the Randall? I was looking at the Jet City and the 12" is rated at 100 watts. For country I would use a Fender tube head but there's a lot of other choices that'll work well. Dr Z sounds killer.

I have no manual, but it has a Celestion Vintage 30 (8 ohm) which I think is 60 watts.

I saw a few of those when I was at Vince Gills a few years back. That was the first time I had seen them in use. I think he was just using vintage Fender heads into them. But Vince could have used anything and his playing would still sound amazing. I'd find a champ or princeton.

Check out the Emery amps. I love, LOVE, LOVE!!!!! the microbaby. My favorite amp that I've ever recorded. Mine goes thru a true vintage 60's Celestion greenback @ 16ohms. Pure magic.

PS - using the iso cab, you'll probably want to get one of the higher wattage amps he makes. With the microbaby, I can do the "iso thing" in the CRM by throwing a couple packing blankets over the speaker cab and mic. :-)

I've got 2 Randall cabs here... The only way they are acceptable sonically in my opinion, is either with a low powered head, or when I use the Rock Crusher after a head.
Anyhow, I love the Vox Night Train, for clean crunchy sounds, the new small 1 watt Marshalls (3 versions) for a bit more gain, or Dr Z, Karmen Ghia...

The Dr. Z stuff that I've heard kills. If I could play well enough to justify another guitar amp it would be a Dr. Z or a BadCat Hot Cat.

Looks like several good options. The Emery amps are works of art. Thanks guys, for all the suggestions.
