Looking for new (bought used) pedal for my pedalboard. I'd like to have more flexibility in modulation choices; currently have an MXR Micro Flanger, Ibanez SC10 Stereo Chorus, and a TC Flashback Delay. Love the chorus and happy with the delay. I run mono from my pedalboard currently.
Ideally would like to have multiple flangers - the idea of having an EH flavor as well as the MXR in one pedal would be great, but also having vibe, autoswell, etc. are worth it since I wouldn't buy those on their own, but having extra tones for a cover song for our band or for writing new songs is appealing.
The H9 appeals more to the Adrian Belew side of me, where I know it can do flange, chorus, delay, reverb, but you can also get crazy with sound development. Concern is that live it appears not as easy to change programs (the idea of pulling out an iPhone between songs doesn't work for me).
I'd keep the Flashback delay, but would lose the MXR Micro Flanger and possibly retire the Ibanez Chorus - or leave that on and have multiple modulation options.
Boss MD500 - out of the running as while it can run 2 effects at once, not a fan of the flanger sound and it's limited to one type.
totally realize these pedals are subjective and personal, but as it's tough to go into a store these days to try out... thanks in advance!

Hey Ned. I'm a big fan of the Empress Nebulus. I bought it originally mostly for the pitch mod vibrato sound but I've now had it for years and I find it really inspiring to play. I love having presets on it that are easy to get to with a foot. I keep a vibrato, a couple of choruses, a couple of flanges, a couple of phasors and a Leslie sound on presets, as well as one “live” option (meaning it’s whatever the knobs are set to). I think it covers a lot of ground well.

Thanks for sharing - listened through the demo, and like the ease of editing and stepping through the presets. I'm not a univibe guy, and the flanger wasn't quite what I was looking for.
Going to also now look for H9 flanger examples online, but the other thing about the Mobius that's intriguing is the pre/post feature to have your dirt pedals in a loop to place the mod before or after based on the patch, as flange/chorus etc sound wildly different in front of an overdrive...

Yeah sounds like the Mobius may be the better fit for you. I think that thing can probably do it all. One of the things I like most about the Empress Nebulus is that it looks/feels like a 'normal' pedal to operate. Just some knobs and switches. It's got a lot of functionality packed under the hood with the way you can save/recall presets, but the experience of using it is very Regular Pedal-y. I don't like menu diving. Not that the Mobius is necessarily heavy on that, or at least I don't think. I've never used one.

Could be. What's tipping me in favor of the Mobius vs. H9 is the mix control - in the studio it's easy enough to dial in from the front or on the iPad, but live where there's too much chorus... easier to reach down and manually tweak. H9 also has the pre/post thing, which opens up new pedal orders without having to repatch. Flange before overdrive sounds different from the other way around, but not about to change the order of my board and don't have a flip flopper pedal currently... www.pedalboards.com/new_page_2.htm or a fancy switcher like a GigRig G2
