I don't see the issue. AND now it's Friday. I should get something special as well!

I just started getting into Rye whiskeys a couple months ago so I am loving these whiskey topics. Keep the suggestions coming. Currently enjoying a bottle of 100 proof Knob Creek Kentucky Rye. Tried a botte of High West Rye a few weeks ago that I really enjoyed.

SIP...er SNIP I *almost* bought the Knob Rye100 last night as well, but grabbed the Larceny instead. I was very put off by Ryes for a long time . . . but I am slowly coasting into them. I must try that Willett at some point as well!

FWIW, Rye and Bourbon are two different whiskeys. Bourbon is, by legal definition, at least 51% corn.
Rye, OTOH, by legal definition, is at least 51% rye.
Look it up.

Much younger than it once was (It was originally called Double Rye because they blended younger spirit with some 16 year old.). The single barrels of that can be outstanding. I have one finished in a rum barrel thats sooo good.

Think I'm about to head over to a part of Nashville that has really good prices...That High West is expensive, though, right?

See if they have any store private picks. I also have one pick aged in Cabernet barrels thats awesome - being a fan of the BH dark rye, you'd probably love it

I’m not one to get into total nerdy descriptions...I read one that said something like “the flavors of a lovely morning porridge”...and I was like give me a break...
But anyway - this Willett really has a huge complexity and kind of a tart granny white apple thing...not what I’d expect in a bourbon. But I liked it a lot.

I appreciate the geeky descriptions assuming there’s not an air of pretense - It’s nice when people aren’t afraid to be super into and excited about stuff. With Willett stuff I usually get a cinnamon candy and/or baking spice thing goin’ on. Curious if you might notice that yourself next time around.

Well that might be my next rye. The BH was amazing. Last night it was the Dickel's and UGH... did not agree with me at all!

Finishing the last sips of this...definitely a unique tasting bourbon. You can really taste the woodiness/earthiness of the barrels. If I collected bourbons, I would have this - bottles just don't seem to stick around with me, though.
