I paid too much for it, but screw it. Yolo. I’d never had it before. (One on the right.)

How do you feel about the Russells Single Barrel? The non-single barrel is tough to beat for $29

NICE! BLANTONS !!!! there was a time I could walk into the Safeway by my old apartment in San Franciso and grab one right from the (locked) shelf for $55. LOL! havnt found it here in a couple years - enjoy! My dad somehow always has a bottle stashed when I visit. So gooooood.

There’s a point above like 105 in bourbons where they lose flavor and the alcohol takes over. At least IMO. Maybe I’m not far enough along in my bourbon maturity....but I wouldn’t buy it again.

Opened a bottle of Blanton's yesterday. Had me a stiff one over some frozen stones, and that was that. Had a little heartburn from it.
Might uncork it again in February

I’ll say that goes for just about any liquor. If you want to simply get drunk Scohl 160 rum is great, but if. You want to enjoy savor the taste, no.

One of these I'm gonna dedicate the time to learning how to make good whiskey and then perfect it over a number of years. One of these days . . .
