Anyone hear of them? They are selling a u87 kit and various capsules, etc. Apparently based in New York.

I have their RK12 here right now. I was told it's the 'same thing' as the Microphone Parts capsule, same factory. Haven't installed it yet, but it's half the price.
They are moving to the "version 2" capsules with slightly higher price points, I don't have any of those here yet. I was considering the V2 RK12 and the V2 K47 for $99.
Also curious about the K87 / U87. We'll see how the other ones go first, I guess.
I'm planning a big 'budget capsule' exploration but my DIY seems to move so slowly. Another K67 I'm really interested in is the JLI TSC-2, and that one's only $50! Might be too good to be true, but I need to find out. If I have to pay $99-$150 for consistency, whatever, not a big deal.

Just noticed JLI Audio now carries a $70 capsule that looks exactly like an RK12, I should try one of those too, to compare.

That U87 model has been getting some of my attention. I haven't pulled the trigger yet...want to gather some more information, especially about the capsule.

The $180 capsule (or whatever it is) is the one I'm really curious about too. I'll probably buy one sooner or later, not this month, no way, but maybe by the end of the year.

I may just live vicariously on this one through you! I'm tapped out on equipment spending for now. But this does interest me, and I'd like to add a mic build to my DIY 'resume'.

There are some cheaper mic DIYs you might be able to do? To start with. The reason I say this is microphone DIY is one of the most rewarding of all DIYs, in my experience, I just love it. Maybe you could start with a Primo EM273 based mic or something like that. Cheap but great sounding.

I've refurbished an Amek/Tac console, built 4 tube guitar amps, done the 'Klone', and I'm poised to add another DIY. A mic seems a next logical choice. I'd like to do a 500 series thing, just can't decide what that would be. An EQ, or a mic pre, something else? Thanks!

I see they are doing an upgraded cap/tranny for $600 total.
Personally, I think the Serrano is better value, even if they sound comparable. the Serrano has a quality shockmount (that I don't use) and the Dachman body looks cheap compared to the Serrano.

I got the Dachman RK12, which according to them, should be pretty much the same as any other RK12 from that factory under whatever brand name. I haven't tried the "Series II" yet but I want to.
Anyway the RK12 is impressive! I put it in a CAD GXL2200. I replace 5 key capacitors in the CAD mic (signal path) and this thing is by far the best $100 mic (got deals on the CAD, capsule is $70) I have ever heard.
I think it's going to be a go-to on acoustic guitars for me. When I get a second one built I'll try it on drum overheads and see what happens.
Sure it might be a tiny bit bright but it's not gross sounding at all. Really full tones. I've never had an AKG 414 but in my fantasy world this is "kind of like that." Even though the mic I have it in can't switch patterns. I'll build some pattern switching mics later. Possibly in the Aurycle bodies.

Dachman have just announced DA Series capsules. Price around $150 ea, other than the M7 which is more expensive. Might have to try one!
there's a 20% off code as well, DACAPSULE20

I’m going to say that’s a good call… Please report back on the differences you hear.

interested in this thread and other peoples impressions of the the Dachman stuff - a friend steered me towards their build kit recently - did not go for it but it looks quite good maybe later on I just ordered one of their 47 mk2 capsules for $80 (20% off $100 with that coupon) I'm interested to see how it sounds in general also have an Advanced Audio 47 here to compare it to I'll be pairing these with an MXL V63M and CAD gxl2200 with the usual suggested circuit components swaps similar to MonkXX I went and put some micparts RK12s into cad gxl3000s awhile back that is my pseudo 414 pair w/ pattern switching these have been fun starter projects for a mic mod newb I learned quite a lot doing it and they turned out sounding excellent got another one the Maiku 47 capsule thinking to pair that with the micparts VP57 circuit kit
going to practice on the cheap ones first and get my soldering skills warmed up before I tackle the full kit build
