I just tried this free bass - Ampeg SVT-VR Classic - plugin - free for a few more weeks - from Plugin Alliance. It's simple has a few settings - sounds pretty good - I believe you can add your own impulse responses too. I like it because it's simple and effective. Use this voucher code - AMPEG-FOR-FREE

The weight of those things gets kinda old after a while though. Throw in the cost of a good set of vintage tubes, the fan always running.... I’d be happy to not deal with one again. I still have my damn 8x10 that I always kept in seriously good condition from the old road days. They aren’t worth didly on the used market - so it sits. |

If I do, I'll build it an airgapped box with a fan, ventilation and cabling ports . . . and it will just live in a corner of the main room. |
