What are your favorites and where can you get them at decent prices?
Planet Waves? Mogami? Canare?
I need 4 or 6 REALLY good mono TS cables that will last longer than a year . . . it would be nice if they could last 25 years or more like high quality microphone cables.
And Mogami ones are like $120 !! Yikes.
What are your thoughts, friends?

I haven't bought cables in forever. I've been making them out of van damme cable and neutrik connectors.
Otherwise I have a couple cables I bought in the 90s at GC that are used almost daily..

Divine noise makes really great cables that will last. I have one of their coily cables that is heavy duty.
That said, i needed more cables recently and bought some Belden 8412 and neutriks from Markertek. More affordable and customized.

Markertek has free shipping over $25 which is partly why I went with them and it arrived super fast to my surprise.

Redco has this heavy bulk instrument cable named Lake cable. I dig it

I am a fan of Canare GS-6. It has a braided shield and have been using it for years. Never have noise issues. I made some with neutrik and a few with switchcraft ends.

I build most of my cables for studio and instrument applications these last several years. Well, I generally leave the db25 cables to someone else. Need to look into a testing rig for those.
I shop Markertek and Redco for my cable and terminations. I mostly wind up doing Marketek. Selection is good, price is fair, and service is reasonable.
I do like a Mogami and Neutrix combo for instrument. I like Amphenol plugs, too. They're a bit easier to solder. I add Techflex sleeving sometimes. I like the look and the extra heft. I think it enhances cable durability, too.

Redco custom cables - choose your connectors, wire, length - have been extremely happy with the quality from them. I won't go back to buying other cables.

I ended up buying a whack of 1192 from Markertek but I'm less than thrilled with it's performance when used for instrument unbalanced cabling. For mic cables? Absolutely incredible! But traceaudio made a great suggestion and I'm going to take him up on it soon!
