Just had some EH Taylor Small Batch that was phenomenal. Ive had some EHT single barrels that weren't as good as the small batch. One of the best bottles out there IMO.

I always had a really horrible impression of Jack Daniels. Not sure I’ve even ever had it more than twice in my life, but TN Whiskey holds some bad memories for me. I bet I hadn’t drank a TN Whiskey in 15 years, but recently had some Greenbriar and it was pretty damn good. Shocked at how smooth TNW’s are compared to Bourbon - although I still much prefer Bourbon. When I did the Jack Daniels distillery tour many moons ago, I learned that to be called 'Tennessee Whiskey', the bourbon must be filtered through charcoal. That's what gives JD and other TNWs their distinctive smoothness and flavour. Personally I find the low end JD No.7 awful stuff, but their Single Barrel is quite nice.

Been a pretty loyal Bulleit drinker for the past several years. Tried a few more expensive bourbons but wasn't super impressed. Gimmie some suggestions! How did you find Larceny? Put away bottle of that this afternoon in negotiations with a client's financier. (it was worth it)

For what its worth TONS of bourbons are charcoal filtered. TN recently made a law that TN whiskey has to be charcoal filtered to carry the name. But tons of bourbons are and have been charcoal filtered. Heaven Hill, Evan Williams, Old Forester for example.

A friend of mine just paid me for some horn work with a bottle of Hillrock. I dig it.
