I don't drink often, but when I do it's usually a small, neat glass of Fernet-Branca after dinner. If you like mixed drinks, it's pretty great mixed with Coke. It's also free street cred if you're hanging out with restaurant industry folks. So many awesome amaros out there. Try Sfumato or Meletti sometime.

I can't quite find a better rum than Diplomatico from Venezuela... but it's hard to find. Ehhh its not bad but very sweet for me. I loved it at first but now it feels a bit medicinal. The Mantuano from them is a bit better and nice as a splash on top of a Painkiller or Pina Colada. Try El Dorado 12 if you like Diplomatico. An excellent step into the non-dosed rum world. Or... Ron Zacapa 23 is a sweetened rum that has a bit more complexity than Diplomatico. We have similar taste buds. I love all those you've mentioned. side note: Clealrly, the higher end Diplomaticos are better than the entry level one.

Do you enjoy the bolder Jamaican stuff? I really like Denizen 100 proof as well (neat or in a drink). Ive also been enjoying a 106 proof Grander single barrel from Panama.

Very curious, and yes, I love the Jamaican stuff in addition to the Guyanese Demereras and the Venezuelans. Not as much a fan of Cuban rums, but they're still good.
