I bought a PRS SE Custom 24 about 6 weeks ago. It was about 1100 AUD (850-900USD) new. It is made in Indonesia...not America like the more expensive ones. It is a supremely well built and finished guitar. The quality is quite outstanding at even 2 times the price point. The weak link was the pickups. I did some searching around and came across a guy called Vaughn Skow....from Nashville.. maybe some of you guys might know him Johnkenn ?? Any ways I got a set of his PRS SE replacement pickups...and put them in today... and they sound really great. I feel with these pickups and the SE its a bit of a steal .... He was really cool to deal with , and based on one transaction would go again... cheers Wiz

Warehouse Speakers had been carrying his pickups, and they know a thing or two about tone - glad your upgrade made it sound better!

Nice, I think the PRS SE’s are great guitars. I put Seymour Duncan Pegasus/Sentient pickups in my PRS standard and they sound fantastic. They’re advertised for heavy low tuned guitars but sound great for everything. Low tuned, heavy distortion guitars need a lot of clarity so they translate well to other styles.
Congrats

I have a n early 90’s PRS CE22 i would never sell. I do have a spare set of prs HFS and Vintage bass pickups in case the original pickups ever die. The SE are good value but once you played a few USA models you can see why there is a price difference.
