If you dig a tele I’d go for it.
I happen to feel at home with one in my hands, and I really can’t stand the Rick neck. Lovely guitars but not fun to play for me.
Wish they still had the 60’s one in Fiesta Red though!

Wish they still had the 60’s one in Fiesta Red though! I'm a horrible guitarist, so I don't need this, but I imagine it would be a great studio guitar. I do know that a nice Tele will be much more useful than the Rick, at least for the stuff I do at my studio. I guess a better question is, is the American Original $500 better than a used American standard like this... reverb.com/item/42057632-fender-american-standard-telecaster-2009-3-tone-sunburst-made-in-usaP.S. If this was Fiesta, Daphne, or Sherwood with a matched headstock, it would already be in my hands.

When I was looking for a studio tele, we played every tele we could find. A Squire Classic Vibe beat them all hands down, by far. Don't waste your money on a 2K tele.

I'd sell yours for cash and get a classic vibe and then you'd have more cash and a guitar of equal or higher play-ability but with less crying if someone dropped it in the studio..

My experience with guitars is that for the most part, you get what you pay for. That being said, not a lot of parts on a tele.

Teles are notoriously variable.
