I would love to see a few of us posting a link with one of thier favourite artists. Please tell us your intension. These days I listen a lot to:
I strat with an 1997 Album "Beyond the Misouri Sky"
Charlie Haden and Pat Metheny.
A great piece fo US-American Art. Why: Its all low tempo music and it feels like meditation to me. It fits the mood I am in.
I try to turn around my business which may is going COVID - down I cant make an change for the better freaking out inside.
I need to stay calm and easy inside and the music helps me a lot. There is something beautufull about the way Haden treats each note.
Sometimes I have the feeling each not he plays belongs to the universe. And I love the fact that PM did an Album with his Father in Law. RIP Charlie

Here lately I have been on a big James Gang and Joe Walsh (solo, not w the Eagles) kick. The James Gang is pretty much what a band should sound like to me and Joe Walsh solo stuff is just masterful to my ear.

Not to gush over him too much but he is a riff machine.

Lately the most listened to has ironically also been also the artists I have seen live in the past month Richard Thompson and Lindsey Buckingham. I think at both shows we were the only people who new every tune. To just continue the Live guitar gods, the last 2 shows before the shutdown? Jeff Beck and BOC ( Don just makes it look so easy). John Hiatt is always on heavy play around here ( he canceled his show). Neil Finn / Crowded House/ Finn Bros/ Tim Finn always getting played ( nobody other than my wife and I found it Funny that LB walked on to Neil Finn playing, Damn it it was that funny).
Current guilty pleasure, Exile, by Taylor Swift and Bon Iver! Don’t know why don’t really listen to either but this tune I like.
After reading the Memiors of both Springsteen and Robbie Roberson did a deep dive in both of their catalogs. ( also read RT’s book ). Joe Jackson’s book is lost in the world of USPS.

Some stuff I've really been enjoying lately:
This Aly & AJ album is fuckin' awesome. I pretty much love every track. Great production value, great songwriting, very reminiscent of 2010 era indie.
This Sarah Kinsley track is GREAT. An absolutely gorgeous recording, gives me early St. Vincent vibes.
Super into this Magdalena Bay song. Soooooo good.
I was on the fence about this next one, but goddamnit, I can't stop listening to it. Girl has a great voice and the song is infectious.
Also been rediscovering some older stuff I used to love:

Been listening to this Frampton tune because the instrumentation is gorgeous to me. I love the 70s.

I have been neglecting my musical side for the last few months - combination of increased hours at work, home projects that I was trying to complete before winter (way too much time under the house in a 32" crawl space), and a certain amount of pre-holiday doldrums - then this thread caught my eye and made me realize I needed to re-prioritize a few things and get back to a focus on music.
Great to see the James Gang/Joe Walsh appreciation here. Although I was playing some bars in NE Ohio (starting at the tender age of 13) during the late 60's - couldn't usually get into the Kent State area college bars so didn't get to see Joe Walsh/James Gang in their prime - but Joe certainly influenced a lot of local players. The other big local influence for me was Phil Keaggy (Glass Harp) - just an amazing player.
Been listening to a lot of basic blues/southern rock recently across several decades - ABB, Gov't Mule, Derek Trucks band and Tedeschi Trucks. Different albums for different moods - but almost always this music lifts me up and gets me into a better head space. Too many options really to link - but I always like this one (and only wish I had had those chops when I was 13)

Some of those live Tedeschi-Trucks “Midnight in Harlem” performances floating around are amazing.

Hi, MrHolmes Thanks for starting this thread. These days I’m listening to a lot of James McMurtry and the Beatles. JM is an American poet. His writing inspires me to stay real. The Beatles are… the best. These days, I’m especially loving the originality of their melodies. I love discovering new music. This thread has some terrific suggestions. Love Joe Walsh. Used to see the James Gang in bars around Kent, Ohio on a fake ID. First concert of my life was Cream at the Akron Civic Theater. 1968? The James Gang and the Poor Girls opened. Great show! I hope things are looking up for you in the new year!

I'm on my phone, so I don't know if this will embed properly...
This is a live cut of Kid Ramos and The 44's. Shuffle-iciuos! It's how blues gets done proper. Especially West-coast style. I never get tired of this.
