looking for suggestions for an active splitter that allows me to take a feed from a guitar pedal board to my preamps instrument in. Not really looking for a DI.
the N-Audio Isolated guitar splitter / Di box looks the goods however with exchange rates/duties/postage etc it's getting up towards $400 aud.
looking for cheaper options.

I've been using a Lehle switcher live for many years. They're well made and quiet. I'm using the A/B/Y version. They aren't inexpensive relative to others...I think they're made in Germany. Not sure that helps on your import costs.

I use the Orange Amp Detonator. Works well. Lehle's are good too.

Radial also has several different ABY switchers that can work.

I’ve used my old Korg DT-10 tuner pedal to split my signal between a DI and an amp. For applications that aren’t too sensitive to impedance, I haven’t noticed any noticeable degradation. That’s probably the cheapest buffered solution you can go with.
