Not bad in richter numbers. What is bad is I’m only 2 miles from the epicenter. I’ve been in many earthquakes and plenty of this size or more, and honestly laugh at this size, but I’ve never been this close to ground zero. I was outside, and the whole neighborhood- and I do mean the entire miles radius- all dropped inches in unison, quickly jumped back up, then started shaking. I felt sort of weightless for a split second. At the same exact time it hit, a huge 50hz BOOM happened. I’m still trying to make sense of the sound. I wondered if something like a bomb or chemical tank exploded a mile away, that’s the first thing that crossed my mind with that low frequency sound. The explanation online is it’s the entire town’s garage doors slamming the ground at once. Ok, I can see that. I can also see that the epicenter is 1000 feet away from Keysight, our local govt contractor. Must be a sad coincendence for them! I’m just glad it wasn’t worse.. thank goodness earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/nc73781306/map

We had a 2.1 here in georgia yesterday as well.. which is two in two days. Very odd for us as we have a couple very small ones a year but we've had more than usual.
What's weird is that a decade or so ago I woke up in the middle of the night and it was eerily quiet. A few seconds later I could hear a rumble and I could hear it getting closer very quickly. As it got near, the building swayed, as did my bed, and it lasted a second or two and I could hear it travelling away. It was a strange earthquake for my area since we don't really get them that often, and when we do they are rarely felt.

Eric- that must have been damn scary, that was a huge quake! Broke a freeway down there I think. I imagine JBL would have been freaking out, did they suffer much damage?
Svart- That’s so weird! There is a helpless feeling when they happen, just along for the ride.
This one I’m still processing how the ground below my feet didn’t know how high or low it wanted to be. To see the entire radius outside feel like a megaton blast, and sky cracking roar, lift the ground and back down, like Godzilla was stomping around the corner.. I’m still weirded out

Try being 4 miles from the epicenter and being thrown out of bed at 6am lol. Fun times!

The interesting thing is that we got EAS alerts on our phones moments before it hit here, I've never seen that work effectively before but it did, we had time to react.

We had a 5.7 here (Salt Lake valley) right when the pandemic was cranking up. That wasn't really what we needed at the time. Different fault line from the one we live on, but it was a reminder to keep a go bag. Hope you didn't have any damage in yours (except for ragged nerves).
