I don't have a hardware compressor. I mainly need one for lead vocals when tracking. I'd love to keep the SA73, but since covid gutted my business, I got divorced, and had to pay 5 figures to move twice recently, I have to maximize the efficiency of what I do have for daily work. I have experience with the original vintage 1073's, and have heard many of the current clones. The SA73 is the only one that honestly sounded right to me. I had that same gut reaction when listening to it. It's been rarely used and works perfectly. Let me know what compressors you have to trade for or the specs on your M1 Mac Mini. Curious if you'd be interested in this.. The Avantone CV95 was based on the Soundelux U95, but with a tube. It actually sounds really good. It's the best speaking voice mic I have, better for voice overs and dialogue than the Neumann U47 FET, Stam SA67, Stam SA47, and the Soyuz 0-19 FET. Of course vocals work well too.
