I’ve been venturing into video production recently, and suddenly all my audio plug-in ads have been replaced with ads for video editing plugs/packs. Surprisingly, the messaging (150 transitions and presets that will take your productions to the next level!) isn’t all that different.

Not sure if this has been posted before but this brilliant website: musicsoftwaredeals.com/tracks the price history of over 15k plugins across multiple stores. Fully searchable by brand, type, price range, popularity, current deals etc.
You can even setup custom price alerts so you can get notified when a product hits a certain price. Pretty impressive.

That's a great idea, but I think your link is bad, or they are having trouble.

That’s a good reverb suite. The iso rooms are really handy sometimes. That was the big surprise for me.

It seems like just about everybody has something for sale just about all the time now. I was looking at the Eventide SP2016 reverb, but I think I am going ti pas. If the H3000mgoes on sale for around that price - $80- I might bite. The intro price for the Electrodyne eqs from Mixwave is around that, but it feels like a lotta dough for a two band eq. Hmmmmm.
And IK has a bundle of 40+ things, most of which I don’t think I would ever use, but it includes the Sunset Sound stuff, mentioned a couple posts above, for $50. I think it ends today. I am waffling.
Cheers, Geoff

Molot is really cool, and I've only scratched the surface. It seems like just about everybody has something for sale just about all the time now. Cheers, Geoff The IK 'install every plugin we've ever heard of even if you only buy one' is a big pain in the ass. If I could just download Sunset, I probably would. I had a few of their plugins on my old system. I really like their Pultec too.

I used some IK reverbs (now called the T-racks reverbs) in the past, but since I barely use them anymore (used to use it for one guy that would send me tracks, but he's so far behind on Pro Tools that our sessions don't really match anymore anyway) but I may just uninstall it all at some point. There are just so many other good plugins that don't require that nonsense (and of course some that do... but I still need those...). although once in awhile I'll use Amplitube to mess something up (usually not for actual guitar though). Still I've got others. and Sampletank 3 I only use (as the sound) if I quickly want to make a midi drum beat for someone to track to. I have others for that too though...

The IK bundle actually ends today. I am still waffling.
Edit. Still waffling. Kinda sorta interested in the mic modeller. But it doesn’t have a a47/48 or 49 which is what I would be most after.
Cheers, Geoff

Cheers, Geoff Mic Room is cool for the 67 and various ribbon options. I never really found a use for it going from LDC to dynamic or dynamic to dynamic or anything like that. I'm guessing the former might be cool if you're trying to lo-fi or grunge up something.

Well a moot point now as I believe that promotion has ended. At less than a buck a plugin it looked like solid value, even if you just used a handful, but I have bought so many in the past year that I am still getting to know that it was just too much.

Cheers, Geoff Speaking as someone that bought into a previous IK "deal" and ended up never using them much....meh. They are more trouble to install and maintain than they are worth. Probably lots of value for someone with no plugins at all, though.

And they actually do have a few really great plugins! It just all feels so clunky and dated, it turns me off from thinking about them much.

Yeah it’s a bit ironic perhaps but it was too much all at once. For me. It seems somewhat curmudgeonly to complain about so much for so little but there ya go. I can only go to learn so much about new to me plugs and I just have a ton of stuff still to try out yet alone come up with ideas and opinions where a plug will or will not work for me.
Which was a long winded way of saying I should not buy any more plugins for a long long time.
Cheers, Geoff

It just all feels so clunky and dated, it turns me off from thinking about them much. Their Pultec is really great and I used it a lot on my old system. If they had individual installers, I would have figured out my login when I upgraded my system, but I just didn't want to deal with it all, including having the giant list of everything they ever made as I'm looking for plugins (though I use search on PT more often now) Yeah it’s a bit ironic perhaps but it was too much all at once. I have so many things, and I should be able to do just about anything. I have things that hae only been on one mix. I really need to just become really familler with what I HAVE and only then think about other things that maybe are holes in the collection.
