Plugin market saturated with way too much pumpy distorted crap and none of the emulations can really better the pure digital compressors. Even for Varimus, I still think the classic MJUC is by far the best overall plugin. Honestly I just use Molot and the Sound Radix Powair now and the ancient Oxford Dynamics when I need low cpu. The Powair can take a ton off with the leveler and program dependent threshold on the compressor, which is a very soft knee limiter. |

I have an i9-12900k and I only have to freeze at 88.2 or 96 khz if I'm doing auto align -> drum gate -> molot ge (on insane of course) -> satin. I usually use it on kick and snare. |
