we've got a fair few B-stock mics i'm trying to get off the shelf in the warehouse. 20% off cosmetic blemish stock until August 31. We've got more parts coming in and I'd like to clear these out as there's been about a year of B-stock buildup I've been ignoring. B-stock is all still warrantied full 5 years and functions just like A-stock (there's always someone that asks!) usually it's a minor paint or plating issue. shop.vanguardaudiolabs.com/collections/b-stock-gearTomorrow's the last day for this B-stock sale, so grab what's left if you can! shop.vanguardaudiolabs.com/collections/b-stock-gear

Lauten Audio has a bunch of mics on sale, both on their site and from retailers. Lauten Sale The Atlantis, which I bought recently is not on the list, but many cool mics are. I'm considering an LS308 for scratch vocals.

Y’all might want to order any Shure mics on your list soon, it looks like they might be going up by 25% early next year.
Edit: Well, if you live in the US anyway.

After so many different mics, I landed back on the SM7b and I like it so much.

I was thinking specifically of the ones made in Mexico (Betas, SM7Bs). I think the 57s are mostly manufactured in China these days? Though it sounds like those will be going up as much or more if current policy proposals come to pass.

Oh let’s not go there, not because I don’t want to say something, but because I respect John’s no politics policy. Tough to dive into trade policy without getting political. 🤢

I posted this elsewhere in the BF deals thread but that thread seems to be only about plugins so I'll mention it here since the sale seems to happen yearly... audiotalesdesigns.com/about/
Here is Audio Animals review and demo.
BF sales on hand crafted hardware are pretty rare. Margins don't flex the same way and there are fewer sunk costs with HW like with SW. So I thought I'd mention this. I reached out after watching a YT video that mentioned a BF sale and Adrien at Audiotales indicated a discount on top of the already discounted bundle of the 1954 + 1951. Looks like it will be about 6500 EUR rather than just over 7300 EUR with the bundle and BF sale. Not bad for two ingeniously inventive boutique stereo modular EQs.

On me, the SM7b just sounds better.

I have a bunch of good ones and I use them according to their various characters, but it's not often that my head turns on a particular mic pairing. That said, I was testing out my new Cranborne Camden 500 and when I ran the SM7b through it I was so surprised by the sound I had to double check to make sure I hadn't accidentally left some processing on somewhere. Clear and articulate. Like what an SM7b sounds like after I'm done EQ'ing it... but. Way less proximity effect as well. I thought maybe it was the HPF but nope, same with HPF in or out.

I honestly don't use the LA610 for much else, but it works great there. I've got it dialed in and rarely change it.

I was looking through the VK demo deals and they have at least one FLEA M251 for $3,689, which is over $2k off.

Has the SSL B-Dyn 611B Compressor been $299 for awhile, or is this an actual Black Friday deal?

At that price they're cheaper than the DIY Link Audio DYNX. In my opinion, $299 should be its MSRP.
Sales must be real bad. Tariffs are scaring everybody, aren't they? Even with all of these sales, I'm cautious about burning my reserves.

The Warm WA87R2 is back to its original price of $399. Not bad. The capsule is by 3U in the R2.
