Canadian legend. Big loss. Sat right beside him in a very small Toronto bar for a Don Ross show.
Cheers, Geoff

Am planning on singing-and getting the Crowd clapping/singing along on "Cotton Jenny".
"If You Can Read My Mind" is Bohemian Rhapsody in comparison as a tune-in comparison. Instrumentally/Vocal Interpretation.
Maybe in June's Sit In... Chris

I sang “If You Could Read My Mind” last night at an open mic I go to. First time I have sung someone else’s music out like that in a very long time. Gordon Lightfoot is way cool.

You grow up in Northern WI / MI / MN the Edmund Fitzgerald is drilled into your soul. It's the Lightfoot song I actually like the least. IMO, as a song, it drones on and on and on and I'm always like "SINK ALREADY!!!" whenever I hear it. Now read as a poem, it's amazing.

I’m almost 100% certain my Studer is the one that recorded the Canadian ‘we are the world’ called “tears are not enough”. Gordon is the first singer in the video. A big part of the reason I keep that giant thing in my life is the history that should be preserved. I love watching him in this video, and the making of which is also on YT (and shows the studer sometimes). RIP
