During two sessions this last week, I've lost two channels of my Daking Mic Pre IV. Channel one is completely dead and channel three is noisy. Any of you have schematics or any knowledge of common issues?
On a good note, the Stam that I had so much trouble with held up just fine during done vocal sessions.

Contacted them to get an RMA. Too many problems once we got it on the bench. All four channels have various issues: oscillating, noise or dead. Odd that all the problems began in the last week. No power spikes of anything like that so I'm a bit puzzled.

Were the problems resolved? It would be interesting to know what failed and possible root-cause

Were the problems resolved? It would be interesting to know what failed and possible root-cause Two transistors and a fuse on channel 1. They didn't find any problems with the other channels, which is a bit odd, but I have used it on a couple sessions and it's ok so far. I don't know where those transistors are in the circuit. It's not an easy preamp to work on. It's packed pretty tight and I was unable to obtain any schematics. Turn around was three weeks. I'm glad to have it back. It's my best preamp for ribbon mics. It has plenty of gain.

I have been eyeing the two-channel version for a while, mainly the "T" version with output transformers. I think these are standard on the IV though. If your unit has been in use over a long period of time it's not impossible that an aged transistor just bit the dust, taking another with it and the channel's fuse isolated the problem.
Do these pres get pretty hot with the four channels? If so, it might be good to leave space above and/or below it for more airflow.
Does yours have the concentric pots for the adjustable HPF? (I think this is the most recent release of the IV)

Mine is the first version. It has the transformers but no HPF. I always HPF as the first plugin on most every channel, so the filter is of no interest to me. It does get warm, but I think it uses the chassis as it's heatsink. Nothing outrageous. Could have been age/heat related or just a flaky component that finally gave out.

How did this go for you?
sometimes, disconnecting the dead channel by removing its DOA module will cause the others to come back.

It's all good at this point. Daking took care of the repair. They didn't say what was wrong, but I suspect a transitory or two. Those are not easy to work on due to how packed in it is.

Now these days its hard to justify using discrete op amps since better ic ones have been made. I have a few Capri boards that have 4 DOA modules per board on a strip and their ACA summing, but haven't got the resources (money is tight) to put them together and the way I want them yet. The only thing I don't like about these (regardless of manufacturer) is how their output circuit is engineered.

Loved my Daking Mic pre/eq. Also had a Mic one brick style Daking. Early model that had power supply issues. They fixed that up for free. But I do find the Mic pre/eq very special . SO sad they dont make that anymore.
