I bet this song explodes. I struggle with what I think about it. I DO I think the video is kind of genius. The choreography is fantastic...(That might be the gayest thing I've said this morning)...Anyway - the song. Let me get this little nugget off my chest.
Why do white people think they have to speak like a black person from New York to obtain a level of credibility? I DESPISE that. It immediately says to me, "this person is chasing the latest trend and has no style of their own"...if it was "cool" to speak like an old Chinese woman, we would see them speaking like an old Chinese woman in their next single.
But - this is a novelty song...and although I've not heard any of her other music, I would imagine she probably sounds more like the Chorus' and less like the verse's. And I'd much rather hear that. Having said that, I am trying to be less cynical these days...and I've listened to this three times already. Wouldn't shock me if we hear this on the radio for the next year.

Yeah...it's kind of annoying isn't it? I'm just trying not to be a cynical old bastard. I guess it's fun - and that's what it's supposed to be.

Lot better than the donkey one. Maybe I just find a whole song about a guy's willie wonka more annoying than a tune about a girl's chocolate factory, but that is just me. Ok, but something about this tune is driving me nuts. It reminds me of some song and I can't figure out what it is.
I know that this section:
reminds me of Toby Keith's "I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight,"
but I think both of them harken back to something even earlier and I can't think of what it is. Help! anyone know what it might be?

I like it but I am a little biased. One of my friends Kevin Kadish co-wrote/produced the track and is producing her record. The vid has 850k views in about 2 weeks so they are going strong!! More power to 'em!! The message is kinda cool and expressed in a comical way IMHO. To top it off, he has a rack full of VP28's!

All About That Bass has been #1 on the iTunes pop charts as well as all genres for a few days now. The video has 9.38M views since June 11th, a little less than 2 months. I guess it has exploded Johnkenn!!

12M + views on youtube, still #1 on iTunes and moving up fast on Billboard. I couldn't be happier for Kevin. Awesome guy and well deserved success.

I just heard it again on the radio. I think it's a pretty cool pop tune. Kind of has that vintage personality like Amy Winehouse had.
