I've bought several gearses lately and have noticed that both distributors and manufacturers (e.g., Audio-Scape) will send an email saying "Your item has shipped." Then, when I check the tracking, the shipper hasn't actually received the item yet -- only a label has been created. Usually, the shipper doesn't receive the item for several days.
C'mon...if the item hasn't left the building, then it hasn't shipped. Don't make me get out my accordion, people.
This disingenuous stuff irritates me, so I'm here bitchin' about my first-world problems.

That has always bugged me, and I can’t imagine the shippers are all that thrilled with everyone checking the tracking before it actually ships. Why not just be honest, “ your item was involved.” |

Automation...
Even on Reverb and eBay when I print the label, the site says the product is shipped. Same with other sellers like Sweetwater. It's annoying, but it's not malicious, and the system doesn't know when UPS is picking up the day's packages...
But agree it can be annoying

My take on this ....
I'm going to be using the gear for at least 20 years so I can live with 2 days extra :-)
There are much bigger fish to fry out there!

It’s really a bigger pain when you’re dealing with commercial customers, or the worst case incoming items. Example, you dot all the “ i’s” cross all the “ AT’s” get the customer to pay for 1 day express, your expedite fee, Sony’s expedite fee to get it to you the next day, you look at closing see it shipped with a tracking number. YEAH!!! Until the next day you go check the dock at 10:30 am, and you find it just left NJ! Now try to get Sony to refund that expedite and highly Padded one day shipping charge because on paper it Sipped. Nah I’m not bitter and that never, ever happened, and the total mark up was a whole 6 percent. At minimum commission, people wonder why I still hate video. |
