So I decided based on the thread where the LA4A gets rave reviews for bass guitar.. That I needed one. I bought a board from Gustav and I've been attempting to make this with as many parts from my parts bins as possible. I think I'm only in this thing around 50$ so far, and most of that was the PCB and shipping and the Opto. Everything else I either had or stripped from something else. I still need a VU meter though. The chassis was from a prototype from work. I cut it up and bent the side to make it a half rack chassis. I'll get another one and make another one in the future for a DBX160VU. The one thing I do need is a power transformer. The ones I have are too large to fit in the chassis. I'll dig around at work and see if there is anything usable.

Oh yeah and I'm using an Edcor 2.4k:600(4:1) output transformer. Unknown how it will act in the setup but we'll find out!
