I’m selling my beloved 414s. I got them pretty damn near new and I believe they were made in 2002 (the year I got em) These are the special edition - silver finish. Only real noticeable wear is the “CE” on the XLR barrel (one has lost most of the E and a bit of the C, while the other has a small bit of the E missing). No dings or dents on the windscreens or mic bodies. Some scuffs you can see in reflections but that’s really it. For 20 year old mics, these are in stellar shape.
They were serviced by Land Audio I’m guessing 8ish years ago (weren’t having issues just wanted to give them a check up) and seen mostly room mic action since. These were my only nice mics for a long time but my mic locker has improved quite a lot in recent years - enough that I rarely even use these. So they can find a new home.
Case is not original - it’s a HPRC pelican style case. It’s pretty good. And the shockmounts are after market and not matching. I’ve got a Blue Ralph and the other is a generic copy of what I think the current versions ship with. Both work well and hold the mic properly.
Happy to provide pics to any interested parties.
Asking $2250 shipped and paypaled in the US
Chandler Little Devil 500 series mic pre. Killer tone box - accepts line level signals for tone shaping. Versatile pre. Would keep it but I need to free up some 500 slots for some dynamics and other options. Minty. $750 shipped.
CAPI VP312. Killer API clone. Older version with a strangely faded faceplate (heard this was common for a particular batch). Continuously variable pots. GAR2520 op amp. I did not assemble this. It served me well for years but as stated, need the room. Keeping my other 8 CAPI pres. Works just as it should. Only issue - phantom power switch is installed upside down and I don’t believe the 48V indicator LED works (phantom does work tho). $300 shipped
Hairball Audio Bronze 500 series pre. Based on the LA3 amplifier, supposedly. Dark and kinda dirty. Vibe for days. Was a favorite of mine on room mics and dirt guitars. As stated, I need the the 500 slots. Works great. $360 shipped.
Slate ML-2 modeling SDC. Cool little mic. Sounds totally serviceable even without the modeling but that adds a lot more versatility. If I didn’t already have a giant mic locker, this would be super useful to me. Just tried it on a couple sessions. Like new condition and I’ll even transfer the software license to ya - I’ll eat the fee) $100 shipped.
