audioscapeinfo Thanks for making this sweet treat! Great sound from this beast processing mixes outboard in Line mode. Here is the Wiz RGO Happy All Alone mix with just the tracks all at faders up as initially provided and a low shelf cut at 30 hz to cut boominess. Also included here is the same track processed outboard through the Audioscape DAM.27 at about +8 dBu gain at ~3 oclock and output attenuated to about 10 oclock. So, pushed as hard as possible without 'too much' distortion. Some hairy moments on the bass though :-) The LEDs were just touching the yellow. In real life I'd probably (hopefully :-) be about 1/3 less effect. Stats are below. Soundcloud links below that. Tracks are essentially identical in stats, but hoo daddy! That difference in tone and snappiness. I'm very impressed. The DAM.27 clears up the track, removes some muddiness, puts a "sproing" in the step of the bass while tightening it, makes the snare snap to attention and splat and brings out some presence in the mids. I've listened to this pre for a while now as a line processor for outboard mixes, and for that purpose it is worth the price of admission alone. Perviously I was processing outboard using pres like Coil, Snow Petrel, Retro 500, etc. This really brings a tasty new flavor. Snappy, perky, totally un-tube-like :-) https%3A//soundcloud.com/poppaflavor/wiz-rgo-low-shelf-cut-faders-up-mixhttps%3A//soundcloud.com/poppaflavor/wiz-rgo-low-shelf-cut-as-dam27-faders-up-mix

This is what we heard when tracking vocals vs other 1731's and 2520 opamps. There is a punch and snappiness that occurs that just feels right. Love what it does to the low mids, really the entire midrange in general. Everything just feels more immediate in that processed track, amazing! I really enjoy the soundclips Steve Stout did on these too, it was great idea to show individual instruments and then a full mix of a tune we all know. I think we'll aim to do more like this. The upcoming CL-20 reminds of having this same type of 'immediate' effect. It can be quite an aggressive comp in the best way possible.
