I tried Logic a year ago and didn't stick with it because of its main outs issue - Even if you choose another stereo pair, such as 15/16, Logic doesn't let go of 1/2 which means, you can' use outs 1/2 for summing on 2 of the better mixer channels. I circled back this week and have no figured out how to fully sum OTB and have the outputs do what you want them to do. The trick is fooling Logic as to what the outputs are, using an aggregate device. I am posting this here for the immediate community and also for anyone searching for the answer like I was. I saw a lot of folks struggling with this online in different places. - Create an aggregate device with the local computer speakers first, followed by the big six. i named mine Logic-Bigsix
What's happened in doing this is the B6 outputs are shifted 2 down in the aggregate device meaning, B6 1/2 are now 3/4 in the aggregate device.
- In Logic, go to Settings/Audio/Devices and choose the aggregate device
- In Logic, now click on - I/O Assignments
- In Logic, make sure the Output assignment is 1/2
- Now select your outputs for your busses or however you get audio out, to the mixer
- The aggregate device will show 18 outputs with the speakers being 1/2 and the big six outputs being 3-18 (instead of 1-16)
Now Logic does it shenanigans as usual, keeping hold of outputs 1/2 of the aggregate device, not knowing the switcharoo channel shift. All outputs to the B6 are now available for full functionality.
May not help many here but will be found for those in need if they search.

I’ll just add that I really didn’t find summing with the big six to add anything of value to my mixes. Just sending through a pair hairball audio preamps were a significant improvement.

It is pretty straight wire, so to speak. that did disappoint me. I do like the compression on channels and master. I also have a hardware insert to my 500 rack on the B6 master as well.
