I just got my Aviom stuff from eBay. Turns out that the analog input unit I bought doesn't power the (4) personal mixers via the CAT5 cables the way I thought. Need yet another Aviom box (A16-D Pro) for that and since I'm currently having only a small iso booth I'm not prepared to pay $700-1000 (used) for that until I hopefully move to a bigger place one day. I don't track that much, and when I do it's almost always a single performer.
So now I'm looking at buying four separate adapters for each mixer. Or are there any simple/cheap splitter for low current? Or could I just solder one myself? I'm thinking about basically just solder four cables to the secondary of an adapter, done in a good/safe way of course. Then I'd only have to get one power adapter capable of 24V DC and at least 2A.
I'd imagine this is something that would be needed for instance in a guitarist's pedal board, not?
Grateful for any advice!

Ok, so I checked power supplies for pedal boards and it seems to be 9/12V only, but I also found this which I believe could show that I could make a simple splitter myself, or am I missing something?.. Attachments:

This is what I was thinking about, for $5.00... Only need to get longer cables to attach. These are said to be for 12V LED lamps, but would it work for 24V and 4 x 0,5A, fed by a 2A PSU? Will I risk damaging my Aviom mixers? Burning cables?.. Attachments:

Ok, thanks again for the eye opener of using what I already have! But I'm having the 51X floor box PSU in the control room and the Aviom mixers meant for the booth. Would be a bit too inconvenient I'm afraid.

Yeah those cable strings would work fine. Just find a 24V adapter (making sure that it's AC or DC depending on what the headphone pods need) and that the polarity is correct.
Also, you'll need to make sure the power inputs have the same ID/OD as normal guitar pedals have, or else those won't work. not all circular power inlets have the same Outer Diameter and Inner Diameter for the center pin..

Thanks man! I've been investigating for a few hours now. Also talked to a very good tech here that approved my plan to solder a cable myself. However, it seems that ordeing cheap on the web with the added shipping or buying parts in stores here, both ways end up around the same, so I believe I lean more towards buying four cheap 24V power adapters anyway. Sorry for taking your time guys, but at least I learned a little along the way.. Cheers Paul

Dumb question but why not a cheap 24v wall wart for each station? Lot less cable!

Unbelievable.. It's funny We all have this way of over complicating the solution to simple problems. I don't know how often as both a paid consultant and as simply interested party I have just offered up what to me seams like the obvious solution and seen people far smarter than me act like I invented the wheel!
