Strange behavior?
So I just shot all my monitors, made profiles, etc...all good.
But now when I play a ruff mix I've been working on, and I thought was close to finished, any drum tracks that had samples underneath using Superior Drummer III are all going NUTS?
False triggering like crazy, which is making playback impossible?
Anyone have a clue as to why this is happening, everything was perfect till I loaded the SoundID thing with the speaker profiles?
Never ends!

Exactly ! ? !
That was my reaction...
I can't even play the track back without shutting all the triggers off? And its a slow mid tempo tune, but with the triggers in place sounds like machine guns ?
I tried the 5 tunes from the same artist, as well as a few others, and it's the same with all of them? Random triggering for some reason after I downloaded the Sound ID stuff, and ran the speaker setup, and loaded it up.
This really sucks!

Was reading about the Bass Management feature...wonder if this is why some people are saying it sounds better? Maybe IDK
Apollo Bass Management and Apollo Monitor Correction Interactions You must set your Apollo Bass Management settings prior to measuring your calibration profile, as this information is passed through to the Sound ID Reference Measure application, and subsequently baked into the calibration profile.

I think on another forum Drew mentioned that the actual filters are UA’s vs what Sonarworks would provide natively in their own plugins. And he basically said theirs sound better. I would agree.

Peter, Don't go crazy buddy, I don't want your system to go haywire! I guess, I'm gonna have to erase or uninstall the program, cause I can't actually work anymore.
At this point, I don't even have a clue as if the speaker correction is a help or a hinderance?
What else is new.

I think the wet dry on room correction stuff is just reducing the gain of the cuts and boosts, no? Otherwise it would be comb filter city...

As for my particular problem, I trashed the Sound ID stuff, and still no luck? I can't put a trigger on a single drum without it going nuts?
Whatever happened after I loaded the room correction software, has effected the other program in a way that it is no longer useable? So now the 5 song mixes I was working on, (with the samples underneath) are not useable at the moment? I'll make do, with the only the original drum sounds I was given for better or worse.
Also as a side note, when I did have the room correction software working for a day or two, within a few minutes, my ears were shot~! I had ringing, (more than usual) and a entirely disoriented feeling listening to my mixes? Very confused as to what was what, and where things were?
What the hell is this stuff doing?
Anyone else experiencing this kinda thing while listening thru the room correction software.
Very Strange?

Do you have more than one DAW? If so does it do it in all?
Which DAW are you running? What are you using to trigger? Slate?
Did it cause this issue right away after installing?

Some very weird crossovers can get phasey. Good luck, I would try a reinstall of the software.

- Yes, the problems occurred right after I installed the Sonarworks Sound ID?
- I'm using Superior Drummer 3, only as a insert on kick and snare, and have samples mixed in with the live drums, at a very low level just to make things a bit more consistent. And they have gone nuts! For example, there are about 8 bars in the tune before the drums start, as soon as I hit play, the kick and or snare triggers just start playing, randomly? And at this point there isn't even audio on the track? And then when the drum tracks start, random hits everywhere???
So I can't even work on the mix, unless, I kill SD-3 and just listen to the live drums?
Now here's the weird part... If I'm correct, when I print the MIX track, (as I go out of the computer) to my mixer and then thru a convertor back into the Apollo X, the false triggers stop, and everything plays as normal? WHAT THE HELL DOES THIS MEAN
I'll have to put headphones on and double check, but If I'm not mistaken this is the deal!
GO figure.
In the meantime, trigger or no triggers, I took mixes I had stored in the computer, ran them thru my outboard as usual, made my mix adjustments and printed them without the room correction... Then turned on the Room Correction software, and made any changes in the mix as required by listening to the new EQ curves presented on my ATC SCM -25's as well as the Strauss Monitors.
I did this for about 5 or 6 songs!
Now the main difference I hear, (listening back on computer speakers, monitors, and 2 pairs of headphones) is that the Room Correction software, cleaned up the mids, and low end a bit....
But here's the rub... I'm not a high end, thinned out, hear every nuance type of mixer! I love the old school stuff from the 70's era, and that's my thing, where the mids, are a bit cloudy, thick, (think TAPE) and it just sounds warm and fuzzy & wonderful.
People hire me because of this..
So besides any problems the install might have (or have not) caused, I think I'm done with the room correction crap.
Plus the fact, I was so disoriented the first time I tried listening thru it, it was surreal? Not sure what happened that day, but you know what...
There are literally hundreds of great sounding (sonic wise) records, that never had room correction, nor did they have the best rooms... For me it's more nonsense they are trying to sell us. I mean NS-10's ....really!
For those of you who love it, no problem, as the saying goes....Whatever works! It's all good.
Emperors new clothes!

I installed it and used (don’t yell at me) the SoundID AI plugin to add a bass singer for a Gaither type quartet. I can’t convincingly hit the low notes. Anyway, all of a sudden, at the end of the song, the AI vocal started triggering the chorus again. It wasn’t showing anything on the meters, but if I pulled the volume down in that section it went away. So something is definitely funky. I was able to fix it With the volume. But that’s kind of disconcerting.

Okay I had to post something Here is a snippet from one of my tunes I am working on... I muted everything but the acoustic guitar and the 3 vocal parts (1 main Vox 2 harm parts)... I sang all these parts myself. I instantiated sound id AI on each track and picked a different singer for each.. Here is the result. Sound ID Testun be liev able...... I can see using this for backing vocal stacks..... cheers Wiz

But - hell, I’ve heard songs on country radio that sounded just as computery. lol. For $99 you can get a lifetime unlimited use…it’s tempting. Like - I could sing a part in my register then pick an AI Girl singer and put it wherever in her register I want. It’s crazy.

You ain’t asking, so pardon me…but the biggest giveaway in that that it was AI was how tightly lined up the harmonies were. The voices were cool - sounded very Steven Stills to me.

“ priced at $6.99/$9.99 per hour of audio processed, and use it when you need it.”
Thoughts about its pricing and not being able to just buy a perpetual license?
