The clean mode sounds okay but it doesn’t really limit and pumps around. Sounds like any other bad, dysfunctional circuit modeled compressor that misfires on fast attacks. Sure it has a different distortion but it doesn’t really matter that much. You could use a bunch of other stuff you already own or that comes with the daw.
I demoed it and got similarly poor attacks from PSP Fetpressor, PSP Flare turning down the lookahead, Audio Damage Rough Rider, and the built into reaper JS:1175.
Better attacks were from PSP Xenon and other limiters, PSP Impressor on 16x FAT mode, TDR Molot GE, Softube FET II, etc

Is this really a limiter though, at least in the modern sense?
Since it based on old hardware I always assumed it was a limiter only in that is was faster than most compressors at the time, the same way an 1176 is a "limiting amplifier" though not a limiter by today's standards.

Less than 90ns attack time. It tempers 20khz oscillations !
It's more a conditioner than anything else. You're supposed to put it first in the chain, kill transients transparently, then use (or not) a slow comp envelope, and that's it. The rest of the chain after the 610 can be pushed harder, and you get more from it.
Some people like to use the comp in a fast setting and crush things.
