40watts tube amp under $500?? I don't know if it's even possible haha If used are ok, you can score plenty. I grabbed my Rivera Pubster 45 for about 5 bones a few years ago. Picked up my 72 Bassman 100 and 66 Bassman for under $500 each too.

There someone said it. I could not believe in blind test that I liked a Bugera. The first one was the Vintage5 which is cool for Blues Rock Jazz and a lot of Hendrix alike sounds in recording. If you own an Archtop-Guitar you will love this Amp and you will keep the secret because its like twin brothers. You won't get a lot of headroom but you get tons of tone - and tone is what we want. Just two days ago I orderd the Vintage 22 which is more like the Fender-Amp sound. For the money I just could not justify the original brands because Fender and Marshalls are very expensive brands in Europe. Did I mention that friends (gear snobs) asked me based on recorded songs which amp it was. The funny thing was that I saw a few blank stares…

I have two bugera amps. Both were broken and i got them cheap. Bugera models are nothing more than copies of other more well known amps. I have a 333xl and trirec, which are just the peavey JSX and mesa dual rectifier 3 channel. Because they are exact clones, they sound just as good as the real thing.... However... As i said, i bought them broken. That's because they are made extremely cheap. The cheapest parts, flimsy pcb, loose wires everywhere, etc. You'll never get more than a couple gigs out of one before it breaks. If it's just a studio queen, you'll be ok though.

That's Behringer for ya! I've been using the same Behringer headphone amp for the last 7 years with no issues however.

It seems some days they can make something that will last 20 years, and the next day they make stuff that breaks in 20 days. With their amps, they use a LOT of internal cables. I mean huge knots of wires going everywhere. I've found a couple times where the amps will start to act strangely, and it turns out that one or more cables has worked itself loose somehow. Anytime I open a behringer amp, the first thing I do is hard solder the power wires to the PCB. it seems the power connectors corrode and burn up. It's probably the most common failure besides the cables coming loose or the relays sticking.

All I can say that my Bugera Vintage 5 is working fuzz free since 3 years now. And for the price with the new 3 year waranty there is no risk to not try them.

It's made in China now, no more Germany. I'm not sure about their high end digital consoles though.

True since B went to China the qualty is low, but B is working on that issue. You can find good and bad B gear. The good ones I own and use every day: Behritone (Avantone Clone) DA ADA 8000 (Works fuzz free since 4 years) Bugera Amps (I cant hear the diffrence to the orginals) Compressor MDX 1000 a DBX 160 Clone its great on guitar and drums works also on the 2 Bus. The old redstripe Behringer with Transformers .... he sounds great on vocals. The Problem with behringer gear is that it gets often bashed. But if you use it one day, by accident for sure, you will fast find out that you cant moan too much for the money, and sometimes you will find out that it sounds great....

I played at a benefit about 5 years ago, 6 bands played through a brand new Behringer powered mixer and it was toast at the end of the night. They probably should have shut it down between acts, but it certainly didn't last.

All the B gear I own I would not go on stage with it. Just Studio…
