So the ADC PCBs should be here today. I ordered the parts I need to populate a couple of them. Still working on the DAC layout. Progress. I'm also thinking that I'll end up ordering 20-30 batches of boards for the initial run, but only populating 10 batches at a time. That way I have cash flow paying for the parts on subsequent batches, until the capital is built up enough to sustain the whole builds. Adding the ongoing build costs up has definitely given me a new understanding of cash flow in companies. Didn't I suggest something like that some where?

Some of us here are happy to pay now. I know you don't want to do this but it would help your cash flow and give you a confirmed market for the first batch. The initial buyers would be well aware this is a new product and could take a while. I for one would be happy to wait as long as it takes and consider it more of a speculative investment. If it failed for whatever reason so be it...
Start up's are tricky things. You have people here who want to help.

I'll be ok with a medium sized first batch, just not beyond that without cash flow. Most of the parts I'm using are readily available and the few that might have some lead time are only a couple weeks, so it should only be a few weeks between batches at first, if at all. Hopefully once it's kicked off, it'll only be a few weeks of wait until I can get continuous supplies flowing. From that point it should be as easy as ordering as parts are depleted from stock, with stock numbers being built up with the first bits of cash flow. Hopefully it'll be a quick ramp up so I can start having boards stuffed by machine, I can incorporate and get a website up and running, etc. I certainly want this to be as automated as possible so there are as few delays as possible to the customer. It all depends on sustaining sales numbers.

Haha, pretty much reminds me of my time at Moto... as a business systems analyst. Making presentations over the web of more than half an hour about mandatory new systems having managers asking me afterwards: "OK, i think we got it. So we can keep everything as before...right?" (me facepalm and off for a cigarette)

Looking at the ADC proto boards. Found a footprint error on my part. I attempted fixing it in layout but the damn layout program is acting up, it just lost all the work I did for the last couple hours.

svart perhaps it would be beneficial for people to indicate they are serious ie cash on hand and then you can really know how your first 1-2 batches will roll for processing and cashflow ? have you finalized DA price: has it risen ?

Svart Box. When i think of those smart boxes, I think of them being efficiently designed and open ended so the end user can get way more bang for their buck then paying for the equivalent big brand name version.

I've thought about using my online moniker and avatar but I don't really like it when folks use their names as their company/product names. I feel its kinda conceited. I dunno though.

When you discover a star isn't it then named after you? I think when you put something out in the world it makes 100% sense that it bears your name, it's an extension of yourself as you should have put your heart and soul into it. I don't see it as conceited at all. Svartist Box, Svart Box... anyone keeping a tally lol Svart Box.
