I have no idea who this guy is, but this has to be the most brilliant tone I've heard out of a 12 string! Or close to it.

Ohhh I'm right there with ya, one week I want to do something like Muse the next week it's System of a down. Then it's something like Morbid Angel or Metallica, I'll get bored of that and then start playing Moonlight Sonata and get in the mood to some classical and then do a bit of Modern Pop music with a hint of 70's funk. I think it's down to just loving music, instruments and types of vocals are irrelevant to me. It's whatever excites the senses in one way or another..

I'm the same, I'll go from playing Country to a Sade or Acoustic Alchemy type thing, still love to play metal, but I'm almost 52 and don't want to play that circuit. I want something relaxed.

My custom built, all maple Telecaster 12 string is very unique sounding. It's a heavy birdseye maple body with over 175 rings. The neck is a 1969 Fender Shennadoah acoustic neck with binding and square mother of toilet seat inlays. The pickups were custom wound for me by Semour Duncan back in 1979, the year I built it. They are wound to 2k ohms per coil giving a 32k hz bandwidth for a unique 'acoustic-electric' sound.
It's active with a 2 band EQ, I finished it in nitrocelluose water clear bar-top laquer like we used at Rex Bogue on those custom guitars,(Mahavishnu Orchestra double neck). If I ever figure out how to post a pic here I'll stick a shot of it up here.

That is quite a nice sound there Tony. It's a Martin 12 string I think.

I'm getting a Takamine 12 pretty shortly, I went back and forth between Martin, Taylor, Tak. and Dreadnaught/Jumbo. I settled on a Takamine 12 string Dreadnaught.

Takamine's are good, somewhere between a Gibson and a Martin.
