Hey All, I don't know anything about anything, but want to rewire up my mustang with some new pickups. I grabbed a new set of SD Lil 59er's, and a new pair of switches (and a pickguard that didn't end up fitting right), and want to get it all wired up. I'm hoping to wire the switches for each pickup to be Humbucker/Off/Coil Tapped. I searched around the web quite a bit and finally came across this post... www.tdpri.com/forum/just-pickups/88747-mustang-3-way-slider-switches.html#post988068The first image shows the original layout and the 3rd image seems to be what I'm looking to do. Can anyone confirm if this 3rd image seems right? Also, I want to test my new switches to make sure that they're actually on/off/on, like I supposedly bought. If they're not, I'll just use the original switches. How do I test the switches? Thanks for your help all!

Well it looks fine to me, I do wire pups up myself (sometimes) and as long as they fall in-line with the wiring specs of the manufacturer all goes well.

As far as I could tell that wiring diagram was for single coils. It provided a humbuck option to the single layout. just find a dual humbucker wiring diagram and a switch diagram and combine them. I don't think you can do what you want with standard switches, You may need a shifter type, cant remember the real name.
I would install push/pull volume controls for the coil tap and use the switches as on/off.
