Jazz Master's are edgier than Strats or Tele's. Tom Verlaine's tone was killer, and unmistakable. The Johnny Marr signature looks sweet, but it's priced a little too high for a second or third guitar.

They probably spaced the strings to make sure all those pearl dot inlays showed as clearly as possible. Eye candy.
I played a Gibson ES 335 at Guitar Center the other day that sounded truly pitiful. Strings fretting. Terrible intonation up and down the fretboard. I couldn't believe they were so sloppy setting that guitar up.

I can't recall ever playing a Jazz master, not popular down under... at least in my corner of the biz... whats wrong with the bridges... if I wanted to get a jazz master, what should I look out for, bridge wise... cheers Wiz

I had a Jap JM...terrible bridge, as pictured. I couldn't get down with the full 25.5 scale though. I prefer Mustang/Jag scale length or Gibson. 25.5 just feels strange, and I play bass besides...go figure. Something about the shorter guitar length does it for me though.
