Are the Managers at Gibson going crazy? A student of my class bought an SG about one year ago.
I advised him to let do a setup at a well known repair store here in Berlin. The luthier said he cant move the truss rod, its has been wrong positioned at the factory. Second thing is those autmatic electrical tuners do not hold the tuneing.
Instead of saying - give him a repalcement guitar. They make a lot of trouble. They also blame the luthier here in Berlin. WTF is this?
I would understand this kind of attitude with an 150$ China crap SG copy. But this guitar was 1400$ and wears the well known BRAND GIBSON USA.
If that is the service in case of hidden defects?? I just can advise my students to not buy Gibsons anymore.
Its a true pain how they treat the end-customers ….and the retailers.
Just in comparison the service of Fender is a breeze they did send me a truss rot nut for free…
This kind of service is the best way to ruin a well known brand. There are a lot of China and Japanese guitars which can hold its own against Gibson after some fretwork for 80$.
I am pissed sorry….. Its totaly absurd what they do.

I don't know what to say...lately most of the bigger guitar companies have been making moves that make me feel ill.
I've been looking at boutique luthiers more and more lately...just getting what I want built for me custom makes the most sense when I think about adding to the stable.
