Man - I'm really, really digging these strings. Beautiful, woody tone with great feel. We will see how long they last...When I bought my guitar they threw a couple of sets in and I had been avoiding them for a while...but they're really nice. www.drstrings.com/#!dragon-skin-acoustic/cktb

But are the "Dragon Strings" just rebranded Phospher-Bronze acoustic strings? I mean..."Dragon Strings" sound much cooler...but if it's basically the same thing, y'know...? I have used DR acoustic strings (11's-50's) since 2001 I think...14 years and nothing else ever comes close in terms of tone. If there's something new in this design I'll have to give 'em a shot.

I put DR on one of my guitars that was setup for down tuning. They would never stay in tune. I even attempted stretching them and the whole nine yards. After a while I couldn't take tuning them and hearing them drop out of tune halfway through a song so I went back to ernie balls and never looked back.
I wanted to love the DR as so many people have said great things about them but ultimately they were twice the price and ten times the frustration of EB strings.

They're coated, phosphor bronze.

OK - They're kind've dying after 3 days. At least the bottom end has gotten a little boxy. To me, they're very, very similar to D'addario EXP's. Same feel and same result. Guess I'm going back to Elixir PB 13's.

Definitely...Actually in my opinion, they sound better after a week of being on...I'm kind've acidic, but for those that aren't they last for freaking ever.

I tried them once, same thing, very nice at first but I found they faded quick, elixir last longer
my fav are newtone masterclass, handmade from the uk, if you have a chance try a set of the phosphor bronze med lights
if you are regularly in alt tunings they make sets specifically for different alt tunings

I used to use elixers for a bit, i liked them, then didn't, then did, then didn't lol. Now for the last few years i use red box Martin 12's, they kick ass, i hatem the first day, lovem for about 3 weeks after if i can keep my sweat(pure italian oliveoil) wiped from my hands, otherwise a couple weeks and they're buttered toast 8)
