So lately I've been getting really weird crappy guitar sounds and I'm not sure why suddenly I'm having these issues . Heres a short clip , listen to the last note and how it breaks apart . Any idea what causes it ? I want a solid note , not one that breaks apart . Theres some crackling in that clip , I think I forgot to assign the master clock to S/PDIF. I record the guitar direct with a CAPI vp312DI , then re-amp using the Line2Amp DIY box . www.dropbox.com/s/7kwwid95vhjpf3e/guitarsound1.wav?dl=0

Does it still happen if you go straight into your amp?

Hey scumbum, you could inspect the frets for visible signs of worn out spots with a magnifying glass. Look at these notes frets particularly. This could be already it and polishing or re-working the frets depending on the fret condition would do...

Play long notes, one after the next fret, does it only happen in special spots on diffrent strings? If yes give it your guitar tech he may has to do a fret dressing. If the frets are worn out he will refret the neck.

If the frets are worn out he will refret the neck. It is a fret problem . It was confusing me because I would record a solo and I would hit the same note several times during the solo and only occasionally would it do that weird buzzing/break apart sound . So sometimes the string would fall into the groove on the fret and sometimes it wouldn't . Looks like I gotta get a fret job done .

It also can be a demaged string. Give to your guitar tech, he knows best what to do.

Is it a fender guitar?
Some fenders have tension rod buzz that sounds similar to a fret buzz. My MIM strat has it happen on ONE specific fret. The note creates a sympathetic vibration in the tension rod.
Try turning the tension rod just a tiny bit and see if it changes or goes away.
