I bought 2 of the Vox amPlug2 toys this week in a local sale. WTF? These are really great fun machines to use! The sound really striked me. I expected like nothing from analog simulation of guitar and bass amps in the size of a plug. But these sounded so much better to me than i had ever thought. They cost like nothing and bring me to rehearse while waiting for the coffee machine in the morning. Whenever i come across my bass i grab it now and play at least a few minutes, because it is absolutely effortless now. The guitar plug i bought, the AC30 emu, sounds really cool for what it is. Much fun to use. 2 earplugs and the touch of a button and party. Fits in every pocket to take them with you. You can even feed it with tracks from your mobile phone to jam along. Cool. I have never thought of this, but even 2 friends who are very good and experienced guitarists spoke highly of them independently and i got very curious if they make a joke or something? One of them told me yesterday he even records the amPlug2 for solo sounds with the chain guitar - overdrive pedal - amPlug2 - console line in with some delay added. Couldn't believe this could sound even near acceptable. If you have the chance to try one of these toys, give it a chance. Cool purchase of the week for very little money...got 2 for the price of one. I can only recommend it. I didn't expect anything and got a lot of fun value with surprisingly good sound.
