I am about to invest in a nice Soldano Top. The back says "Class 2 wire" - never heard about classification?
Since 25 years I only know simple speaker cable for tube amps, never asked why. Why not using any other cable if its the same lateral cut?
Most speaker cables I know have 2.25 square milimeters thats it.

It just refers to voltage and application. Class 2 is signaling rated cable, like doorbell wire, speaker wire, etc. Max of 30VAC and 60VDC.
Just get nice thick conductor cables and have fun!
