If you want some pickups that are true to the Nashville Tele then take a look at MojoTone Broadcasters. Those are the only ones I would replace in a vintage Tele if I absolutely had to. I'd have them underwind just a tad too, not much, not much at all, just enough to make it sparkle and snap.

Get the Tele set and then order a RWRP strat Texas special STRAT pickup for the middle. They will definitely meet your requirements and if you like blues and rock mixed with your country, chances are you want some dirt or 'hair' on it anyhow.

Measure what you got. If the neck pu is 7k ohms, stock pickup. If the bridge pickup is about 6 k ohms, stock pickup. Those are best for a great Tele sound. If you want more bite off the neck pickup, carefully remove the chrome cover. Texas Specials are overwound, more mids, more bark, less twang. You can make the amp as dirty as you want, keep the guitar clean.
Also check out staggered 3 piece bridge saddles, I got some from All Parts and the intonation is spot on.

Voodoo TE 50's. No better Tele tone on the planet. Bite for days. Thinking about dropping a bridge pickup in my 52 reissue.

I wish you could buy Fender's new noiseless Tele pickups, but as of now you can only get them with the Tele Deluxe guitar. They are sublime! Just tried it out at NAMM

Yeah, but you know the N3 series are available separately and they're lke 90% as good as the N4 series.

I went ahead and bought the Voodoo TE 50's and dropped them in my main guitar. I'm stunned at the difference. I would highly recommend these for anyone looking for a big sound. It's unlike anything I've heard really. Hard to describe but when you hear it in a mix it just sounds right. It's like a Tele on steroids.

I've got a set of Fender Nocasters in my tele right now, any thoughts on how the Voodoo TE 50 might compare?

I really like the Fender Custom Shop stuff in general. Bass or guitar pickups, they just seem to do it right. It figures they'd know a thing or two about how to make their own guitars.
Did you decide on anything? I know this is an old thread.

Check out Zhangbucker and Cavalier pickups. Both excellent tele flavors.
