I've been down the amp road for many years now. I've had old and new Fenders/Marshalls, as well as boutique builds such as Quinn, Bludotone, Two Rock, Van Weelden, Soldano, Dr. Z, Germino, Glasswerks, and others I've long forgotten. My favorite amp for years now has been Alan Phillip's Carol Ann amps. To be specific, I like the "JB line" of Alan's amps. More specifically the JB 100, TX 50, TX 25, and custom amps that Alan has built for me off of this circuit. It's a circuit that he did for Joe Bonamassa. Alan said Eric Johnson also had some input on fine tuning the voicing. Here is a clip featuring the OD side of the amp. Notice it is over-driven but very clear. I'll try and post something on the clean side later. I may like the clean channel even better. Hope you enjoy!

Cool, never heard of them and I don't live too far from where these are made. Nice solo and vibe! Thanks for sharing.

He's most certainly one of the top amp builders in the world right now. I was out at his house last year and he had a custom build for Joe Bonamassa that he was working on. I've owned many amps both vintage and boutique and, to my ears, Carol Ann's are at the top of the heap. I like his "Joe Bonamassa" circuit the best. The Carol Ann JB 100, Texas 50, Texas 25. These amps have amazing OD and cleans. Oz at the Austin Guitar House carries them. Check them out. www.austinguitarhouse.com

Carol Ann Amps should not be confused with Barbara Ann... that's by the Beach Boys.
There. now it's stuck in your head.
