Yes, John, I have one. I'm impressed first by the Antares modeling of popular guitar sounds on a basically generic solid body Peavey, you also can play the regular pickups, but the Autotune guitar doesn't use them.
Also impressive is the response to string volume and string bend. It plays like a conventional instrument, bends like you would expect, and bears NO resemblance to the Autotune vocal effect whatsoever.
That said, it doesn't matter what pitch the strings on the guitar are actually tuned, you'll get whatever tuning you select when you want it. For playing in multiple tunings, it's hugely practical. I would say you could cover 80% of what you need from a guitar with this. Would a top player trade his guitars for it? Unlikely, but this is a useful tool and not a joke. And the tech to get this to work is indeed impressive. It's not even expensive.

Wonder if they'll ever market the DSP as an option for any guitar?

I believe they sell the tech as a luthier kit for retrofits.

Got one on ebay for $205...eagerly awaiting... Make sure you get the instruction manual with it. You'll need it to take advantage of the way the strings control the electronics. You probably can find it from Peavey. Also recommend upgrading to the complete sound model library if your guitar didn't come with it.

Word cannot describe a)how wrong this is and b)how much I hate this. Peavey has out-eviled Satan himself.

Is that with all the different guitar models? Yeah, the base model AT200 probably doesn't have all the modeled instruments. (strats, teles, Les Pauls etc.)

Word cannot describe a)how wrong this is and b)how much I hate this. Peavey has out-eviled Satan himself. It's not gonna replace your cherished instruments, but if you need to cover a sonic base in a performance situation, or do a quick non-standard tuning, the guitar has some value. It can exist with other stuff. I think attitudes like yours has impeded the adaptation of the technology. The Peavey and Autotune names haven't helped I guess. I understand, I'd probably not be interested in checking it out if I hadn't seen and played it several years ago at NAMM first. Autotune sells a luthier kit to retro fit other guitars. It doesn't affect the magnetic pickups, so you could retain your fav guitar's regular behavior.

Meh...Ward barks a lot. I will enjoy my perfectly in-tune guitar and reap the rewards...Buck-freaking-Dharma likes it. Joel Hamilton...I think I'll manage.
