It's a shame that they don't know how to use something like Screenflow to record the audio coming from the computer while they're shooting the video so that we can hear the actual sound, and not the sound picked up by the camera.

Yeah, loves me the JL vids too. He is very casual and usually unrehearsed. He posted recently where he talked about getting his personal life together, his health and such and how it affected his mindset, made him non-productive. He's lost a bunch of weight and changed his lifestyle for the better, so CONGRATS to Mr. Lugo. I can relate to how personal issues can suck the soul out of your music, and that fighting through the problems is not an option. There's too many songs to write.

This Kemper is making me want to sell my amps for the simplicity and quick staple of tones. Are you guys just going direct into the DAW, or are you micing an amp and cabs with the Kemper, or both?

I'll chime in with what I'm doing, a lot of the time I have the Kemper, the direct out feeding an amp, and the Monitor Output giving me a DI. This way the client doesn't wig out. I've dealt with an obscene amount of grief from bands who think it sounds "digital" or "like a pod" only to be completely happy with their mixes that are exclusively Kemper. I just reamp the DIs over SPDIF with the kemper once they leave.

I just don't have time to dial in sounds, I have to work fast and it just seems like the right thing to do for my workflow. Most of the guitarists I work with have their own amp and the idea of getting profiles from these amps and just from Michael Britt to Michael Wagener just makes sense....just thinking out loud.

This is where the Kemper is worth it's weight in gold. The noise gate is extremely usable to, I always take a DI but a lot of times the tone that took me 2 minutes to dial in is the one I end up keeping and using. When you're doing flat rate projects it's a much easier way to get your target rate.

I think most TV/Movies are 48k and the cats you work with would be prime material for getting placements.

Really? Are you kidding me? I just happen to turn on the TV and there is Martina McBride singing one of her new songs off her new CD. The guitar player just so happens to be playing....you got it. Is it a sign or just pure coincidence? Dammit! David Coverdale! Here I Go Again! Attachment Deleted

I go analog in...think it sounds better. Anyway, the Michael Britt profiles are almost plug and play...Actually, a lot of them are. Really, really great.

I don't think my Zen does 48k sadly, 44.1k has never been a setback, obviously I would go a higher res if I can but it's never been an issue whatsoever.

Zen can do up to 192 I think. 48k should be on your radar.

I also find the Kemper great in a live setting for acoustic and resonator guitar. I just run it analog right into the mixer.

Does anyone have anything to say about the bass profiles?

I've tried some of the bass profiles in recording, but so far still prefer going direct into my retro power strip. I have no doubt I could get great bass tones with the Kemper if I spent some time, but I'm not a real bass player anyway so I'm just looking for something quick.
