Those bends are nuts. Between Jeff and Chris Cain my fingers are toast lately. Lol

Those bends are nuts. Between Jeff and Chris Cain my fingers are toast lately. Lol Be like Jeff. Use 8-42 gauge strings for easier bends. Our paths crossed on the road, over 20 years ago... nice guy and loved to share any info he could. Friggin' nuts about old 78 RPM records too!

Actually if I always played dirty I would too. Sadly the clean tone don't like 8's

joelhamilton yes, Someone can correct me if the man told them differently, but I specifically remember the conversation and his gauge strings on those 'Super-Strats' were 8 10 15 24 32 42 Like a '9 set' with a lighter hi e and b string.

Saw him in '95 Or thereabouts at the old 328 Performance Hall. On a Tuesday and there were about 35 people there. Got to stand right in front of him. Just amazing.

Jeff was one of those guitarists when his stuff comes on the radio I always just pay friggin attention: he sure could play. He had a radio station on the national broadcaster cbc and played all his classic jazz 78's: you never knew what you were going to hear and he knew all the back story of the track and the players; everything, miss that guy !
